In the midsummer of July, intelligent manufacturing embarks on a new journey. On July 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for Xiamen Golden Egret’s Construction Project of Cutting Tool Product Line and Solution Center for High-end Manufacturing was grandly held in Wenjiang District, Chengdu City. Distinguished guests including Ding Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Chengdu Municipal People's Congress, Liu Zhong, Deputy Secretary-General of Chengdu Municipal Government, Wang Jun, District Chief of Wenjiang District, Zhong Kexiang, Chairman of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd., and Wu Gaochao, President of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony.

As a key signed project of Sichuan Province at the 13th Western China Investment Fair 2025, the project involves a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan, covering a planned land area of approximately 100 mu with a total construction area of 64,000 square meters. It will feature newly built digital intelligent production workshops, an R&D and engineering solution center for high-end cutting tools and comprehensive supporting facilities. Internationally advanced intelligent production equipment including sintering, CNC grinding, precision coating and laser processing facilities will be introduced. The project will fully shore up the upstream core supporting weaknesses of the western high-end equipment industry and facilitate the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing industry in Chengdu-Chongqing region.

Upon full operation, the project will achieve large-scale intelligent manufacturing capacity with an annual output of 30 million indexable tools, 4 million solid carbide tools and 2 million superhard tools. With the integrated layout of "R&D + Intelligent Manufacturing + Technical Services", the base is positioned as Xiamen Golden Egret’s regional strategic headquarters covering western China, forming an industrial pattern of coordinated development featuring the "Xiamen Global Operation Center + Western Innovation & Intelligent Manufacturing Center", to precisely empower high-end industrial clusters in Sichuan and Chongqing such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, rail transit and precision molds.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Sun Dongping, General Manager of Xiamen Golden Egret, stated that the company will adhere to high-standard planning, high-quality construction and efficient progress, and strive to build a benchmark digital, intelligent and eco-friendly factory in the industry. It bears great strategic significance for breaking overseas technological monopolies on high-end cutting tools and enhancing the competitiveness of advanced manufacturing in Chengdu. The local government will continue to provide full-cycle resource guarantee and tailored services to accelerate the completion, commissioning and production of the project.
